Women In The Church (WIC)

Women in the Church                                                                                                                                                         (Jo Scheel)

The summer social for all the ladies in the church was last Wednesday night in the church parlor. Although the attendance was small, it was a delightful evening. Annual business was taken care of including reading news from Grace PresWIC. Following our business meeting, Katie Vernon led us with a devotional. Refreshments were then enjoyed with lots of fellowship.

.
In the newsletter from PresWIC, we were invited to attend the annual meeting. It will be Monday October 3rd in Mize, Mississippi. More information will be coming in the near future. Hopefully several of our ladies will be able to attend.

.
We have recently received notice that we will be able to participate in the Angel Tree project. The names of the children should arrive mid- fall. We will need volunteers to help with contacting the families. That is usually the most difficult part of the project.  We can also begin bringing additional non perishable food items. These contributions will go toward our Angel Tree Family Baskets. Last year we prepared 7 very generous baskets to give these families.

.
We are asking all the members of the church to once again help fill flood relief buckets. The list of items needed are on the table in entryway of church..please put your name beside items you will be able to supply.  We are trying to fill 3 buckets. It costs about $50.00 to fill each bucket. If anyone wants to donate a monetary gift, we will be more than willing to purchase the supplies.

                                                                         The Morning Circle                                                                                   (Ruth Mathis)

The Morning Circle will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14th in the church parlor.  We will begin our new study book, Women of the Old Testament, with Chapter 1, “The First Woman: A Far-reaching Choice.” All ladies are invited.

Prayers continue for Dorothy Martin, who had another short visit to the emergency room and for Pastor Chris’s daughter, Lissa, who had surgery recently. Remember to pray for those unable to attend our services
